In this section you will find articles on the Federation and the various indivudual species and colony worlds that make up the United Federation of Planets in Starbase 23's universe. This will include items like the Federation ship registry number system, and essays on topics such as species profiles, navy/marine rank structures, differing time-keeping systems, and the crew complements of the "starring" ships of this universe.
These items should offer insight as to why our characters speak, look, and react to each other and aliens they encounter in the way that they do.
So, read on, and learn about what makes the people of our universe the way they are. Enjoy!
'Federation Starship Registry Table' by Scottish Andy & Jaeih t'Radaik
A table of information detailing the various Federation ship classes that inhabit our universe. Most of these ships will never even be referred to in our fiction, but we've included them because we either:
A) liked the appearance of the ship,
B) liked the concept of the ship and designed one to fit the profile, or
C) created the ship ourselves.
Most of the FASA Ships will be excluded because they look completely ridiculous. Some have made the grade, however.

'STARDATES IN STAR TREK FAQ' by Andrew Main

A solid and well-thought out investigation into the construction and implementation of the various incarnations of the Federation's often confusing stardate time-keeping system. This is the stardate system Jaeih and I use and as it was created by another and adopted by us, here it is in the man's own words.

For those that don't want to wade through the intensely Trekkie "investigation" part (the "why" of it all) as linked to above, here is the "official", in-context explanation of the unusual stardate system Jaeih and I use.
